Fluoroscopic Xray

Barium Studies

Barium fluoroscopy studies use a chalky liquid to coat the lining of the gastro-intestinal system to provide diagnosis of symptoms. Fluoroscopic images are taken at different intervals and after different time frames to look at various structures. Fluoroscopy or ‘screening’ allows the Radiologist to view the barium inside your body in ‘real-time’ on a TV monitor and save images as appropriate.

There are various examinations that may be requested depending on the area of interest.
