Chiropractic Xrays

At Sound Radiology we work closely with our Chiropractors and Osteopath’s to ensure that we deliver the best in spinal imaging. We also understand that there are individual needs associated with your referring spinal and alignment professional, so we take the time to speak with them about what they prefer when sending their patients for xrays.

Chiropractic spinal images enable a comprehensive analysis of the spine to be performed with a radiologist interpretation in addition to a Chiropractic assessment.

Your preparation requirements

We ask that you please refrain from wearing deodorant or talcum powder to your examination as to avoid misdiagnosis.  You may wish to dress in a two piece outfit as you will need to remove all clothing from the waist up.

What to expect

A Chiropractic spinal x-ray is generally performed in an erect position with a minimum of two images taken on each area of the spine. Additional imaging of specific areas may be requested by your Chiropractor and are performed standing or lying on a bed. Your radiographer will then view your x-rays to make sure no further images are needed.

Most Chiropractic spinal x-ray examinations require only 10–30 minutes of your time.

Following your x-ray, our radiologist will interpret your image and send a report to your doctor. If necessary, we can compare previous imaging for a more comprehensive evaluation and report

If you are having a Chiropractic xray, please see our checklist below.
